Congratulations to Boulder Housing Partners on the groundbreaking of Hawthorn Court, formerly known as Diagonal Plaza, in Boulder today. Hawthorn Court’s 73 apartments will serve families earning between 30% and 60% of the Area Median Income as well as families exiting homelessness. This week’s #50for50 story features Zach and Heidi, CHFA homeownership customers who live in Colorado Springs with their three children. The Delores Project builds belonging for people experiencing homelessness through the provision and advocacy of safe, dignified, and trauma-informed shelter for women, transgender, and nonbinary individuals. CHFA was proud to support their Building Belonging event last night.

CHFA is glad to report the passage of two pieces of state legislation that increase and establish new tax credit resources for affordable and middle-income housing, HB24-1434 and HB24-1316. View CHFA’s legislative update to learn more.

This week’s #50for50 story features Pancratia Hall Lofts, which converted a historic vacant school and dormitory building at the former Loretto Heights college campus into 74 units of affordable rental housing for Denver families with incomes between 30-80% of the Area Median Income. CHFA was proud to support Pancratia Hall Lofts with a $7.8M permanent loan and a grant through the Capital Magnet Fund program.

CHFA is proud to host this year’s Mountain Plains Housing Summit, bringing together housing finance agency executive directors, management staff, and board members to discuss and share solutions to the affordable housing challenges unique to the people and rural communities of the Mountain Plains region.

CHFA is pleased to announce the promotion of Steve Johnson as CHFA’s new Chief Operating Officer. “Steve has been a visible presence in the community over the years and is well known for his collaboration, expertise, and responsiveness,” said Cris White, Executive Director and CEO of CHFA.

Congratulations to the Second Chance Center, Inc. (SCC), and all involved in today’s groundbreaking of Residences on Acoma in Denver. Residences on Acoma will serve people with physical and mental disabilities and working adults rebuilding their lives. This includes SCC’s pre-apprenticeship trainees and entry-level apprentices, providing them with stable housing as they work towards self-sufficiency.
